A man is in the Champaign County Jail on a 2007 charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child under the age of 10.

The Cook County Sheriff's Department says investigators arrested 31-year-old Kenji Haley Thursday at a Chicago home on the Urbana-based charge. Investigators say the personal trainer would target single mothers with young children, earn their trust and molest their kids. Cook County investigators accuse Haley of molesting children and threatening them that their mother would never believe them or think the child was trying to break the couple up if they told. Investigators also say he would give gifts to the children to keep them quiet.

The charge on which Haley was arrested accuses him of committing 10 acts of molestation on one victim in Urbana. Cook County investigators say another investigation is underway into a possible second victim in Urbana. Investigators are also looking for potential victims in Cook County.

The Cook County Sheriff's Department says investigators learned three weeks ago that Haley was living in Cook County and seeing as many as 10 women with young children. Investigators checked addresses where Haley was believed to have been staying and tracked him to a Chicago home Thursday, where he was staying with a single mother. He was arrested without incident.

Haley was brought to Champaign County Friday. The jail says his bond is set at $250,000 and he is due in court Tuesday.

Haley was also wanted in Vermillion County for unlawful use of a credit card and for failure to pay more than $25,000 in child support in Champaign County.
