A correctional officer in Moultrie County is accused of sexual misconduct with a detainee.

The Moultrie County Sheriff's Office says Mindy Brant of Sullivan was arrested for custodial sexual misconduct. Investigators say evidence of the possible misconduct between Brant and a U.S. Marshals detainee was discovered during a random cell search.

The sheriff's office says the U.S. Marshals Service was notified and investigated the accusation. Following that investigation, Brant was arrested on October 22nd and fired.

Her bond was set at $15,000. She posted the required amount and was released. Brant is due in court November 23.
