Decatur Police have canceled an amber alert in connection with a Decatur Murder. Police are searching for 11-year-old, Heather Carter and seven-year-old, Darion Vest. The children have been located in Quincy with Darion's father, Brent Vest, early this morning. The chldren were unharmed. Mr. Vest is now in custody in connection with a warrant issued for his arrest in the investigation of a murder that happened on East Clay St.
Mr. Vest's wife Christina's body was found in her Decatur home by his father the evening of November 18th. Authorities believe the victim was bludgeoned and stabbed to death in the bedroom of her home, and had been dead for more than a day.
